7 Nov 2010 from 06.00am to 10.00am at Marysville
Marysville's only GP Lachlan Fraser's response to the devastating Black Saturday fires resulted in the successful staging of the first Marysville Marathon Festival in November 2009.
It was an opportunity for the community to come together to witness the devastation and the regeneration that followed.
Over 3000 people demonstrated support through their participation. Check out the video of last year's event here.
We envisage that the festival will continue to grow and stand as a monument to the loss, the courage of those who experienced the fires and the compassion exhibited in their wake.
The 2010 Marysville Marathon Festival is an opportunity for us to welcome you and your family back to be part of the continuing renewal and recovery.
We've got a course for everyone, ranging from a gentle 3K to fully certified marathon course.
This is not just a another city run, there are dozens of those! We have open spaces and country hospitality and we are only 90 minutes from Melbourne.
All money raised will go towards local CFA, SES & King Billi Wildlife Reserve.
Reece and Peter talk about what eco-resilience means for Flowerdale in the aftermath of the Black Saturday bushfires and how it has changed them, their neighbours - and made the whole community more resilient.
Julia, Mike and Otis talk to Green Cross Australia's CEO Mara Bun about their straw bale home and rebuilding in a more sustainable way post Black Saturday.
