Kinglake
Robyn's lovely new home is a perfect demonstration of how sustainability can be beautiful as well as comfortable!
Robyn's local building specialises in good insulation, and he suggested using the existing cement/stone flooring and as much recycled stone materials that could be salvaged after the fire.
Her home benefits from good passive solar design and has
interior stone walls that absorb the winter sun to radiate heat
into the evening.
Recyled timber flooring complements rendered cement flooring which
also insulates while providing a sleek finish that contrasts her
orange kitchen tiling perfectly.
After the fires artists from around Australia donated their works and designs to support the recovery.
Robyn's magnificent coral birds nest and driftwood nest light fixtures are unbelievably elegant and cover highly energy efficient lighting.
This is a lovely and imaginative green home.
