Solar Hot Water
A rebate of up to $1600 is available from the Victorian Government to people whose homes were destroyed in the 2009 Victorian bushfires and whose eligibility to receive a Destroyed Homes Payment is confirmed by the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund.
To receive the solar hot water rebate you must have rebuilt your home in Victoria, installed an eligible gas-boosted solar hot water system in the new home, and the destroyed water heater was not an electric or electric-boosted solar unit.
An extra $200 is available for a rebuilt dwelling in a mains gas area where natural gas was not connected to the destroyed home.

The Federal Government is also offering rebates of $1000 for solar hot water systems to people whose homes were destroyed in the 2009 Victorian bushfires.
The dwelling must be on the site of the destroyed home and must include a connected 2000-litre rainwater tank for toilet flushing.
The old home must have been a principal place of residence and the new one must also be such.
